The 17 sections of the 66 lakes trail.

ADVENTURE

The 77-lakes-hiking trail by heldenstuff

This trail is based on the 66-lake-trail, but deviates from the official route, especially at the beginning and end. The new trail is still divided into 17 day trips and has a length of 420 km (260 miles), but I cleaned up the track and changed sections. I also counted all the lakes and added a few new ones.

Officially, the trail starts and ends in the center of Potsdam. My route leads around the city. The famous castles and parks are worth a visit, but I wanted to avoid the tourists, so I skipped the crowded sights. In some places I could take shortcuts, more suitable alternative or scenic routes, and once an owner asked me not to enter her private property. At these points, I made changes. My route starts and ends at the main train station in Potsdam with a view of the friendship island.

I am still working on this trail, but if you feel adventurous you can download the Beta GPX track here.

Me, hiking the 66-lakes-trail.
